Henning Kretschmer: Calavera Queens

“The pictures were taken at Germany’s first Burlesque Club, the Queen Calavera in Hamburg. To entertain the audience, the burlesque dancers play very different characters in every other show. I am interested in the people behind it.
First I had taken only one portrait for another series. I was hooked and started to portray other dancers. Meanwhile, I accompanied some of them outside of the shows with the camera. The set is work in progress will probably be finished at the end of the year. ”
